Dear all, we are delighted to show the preview of the next new theatre companies who will participate at the 5th European Theatre Festival Reves D'avant L'aube in Paris

Limb2Limb - "Eggshells"

One night, two actors, five characters and a Singapore sling or two….written in verse…come for the ride.

Limb2Limb’s Leah Georges collaborates with Andrew Darren Elkins to form the companies latest collaboration for Eggshells. Through on-going research, development and training Limb2Limb have created their own individual style of theatre. Using a unique mix of music, physicality and text the company captivate their audiences with dynamic storytelling theatre. A two hander, written in verse ‘Eggshells’ addresses the growing problems of anxiety disorder and post traumatic stress disorder after a bomb going off in London affects Glen’s life more than he cares to share with Hannah. Hannah can’t take much more of Glen’s strange behaviour and her best friend Jim thinks a Singapore Sling is the answer to all their problems. As the night unfolds Hannah and Glen’s relationship, honesty and openness is tested to its maximum as the recent events in the city they love falls on top of them.

Limb2Limb have been lucky enough to collaborate with many industry professionals and gain ACE G4A funding to continue developing their work and widening their creative journey. This journey led the company in early 2017 to Fiona Harper’s ‘Eggshells’ and with her support the production has now become a focus for the company for 2019 and beyond.

Class Anatasovi - "The suitcase packers"

Class Anatasovi - is a collective of graduate students of the acting course from National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts in Sofia, Bulgaria. "The Suitcase packers" is a comedy in eight funerals. Hanoch Levin's play is fraudulently simple, full of skillful games of words and

poetic allusions; it tells us about our human life - closed in its repetitive cycle.

Birth, marriage, new birth, and death (at best), because for some, between birth and death,

there is nothing but long-lived loneliness.

"The Suitcase Packers" is filled with colorful characters - gathered in a small neighborhood.

Several families mingle their lives with their neighbors, with passers-by, with tourists.

Grave-diggers are always stalking them and are ready to bury the unnecessary physical envelope of the human being.

Dear all, we are delighted to show the preview of the next four theatre companies who will participate at the 5th European Theatre Festival Reves D'avant L'aube in Paris

Woman’s Move - "The Sensemaker"

Critical of new technologies as well as of bureaucracy, The Sensemaker shows a woman battling with an answering machine, and addresses with irony the fears and frustrations of our interconnected world.

The association Woman’s Move was born from a common desire to share different artists’ skills. It is codirected by Elsa Couvreur and Iona D’Annunzio and was created in 2012 in Carouge, Switzerland. Since its foundation, Woman’s Move has created over ten projects for different sites and venues and toured its dance pieces in Switzerland and abroad (France, The Netherlands, United Kingdom, Finland). The Sensemaker shows a woman battling with an answering machine, trying to meet the impossible expectations of an artificial voice.

Critical of new technologies as well as of bureaucracy, this one-woman show mixes dance, theatre, and even lip-synching, and addresses with irony the fears and frustrations of our interconnected world. Mixing dance, theatre, and even lip-synching, The Sensemaker is a hilarious yet uncomfortable one-woman show that questions our capacity to resist an unjust authority.

Collaboration between Divisar and Woman’s Move -

"Anchor"

In Anchor, Elsa Couvreur and Mehdi Duman play, dance, scream, laugh, but above all, sing a song we all know the lyrics to.

The company DIVISAR was founded by Mehdi Duman in 2014 as a non-lucratif performance company with its roots based in experimental and creative dance and theatre.

The company's goal is to create visually imaginative shows, using both the artifice of the stage, the set, objects and costumes and stage craft to create stories and innovative choreography around emotion and art, to open new horizons in the performing arts for a diverse and eager audience.

Since its foundation, Woman’s Move has created over ten projects for different sites and venues and toured its dance pieces in Switzerland and abroad (France, The Netherlands, United Kingdom, Finland). The association Woman’s Move was born from a common desire to share different artists’ skills. It is codirected by Elsa Couvreur and Iona D’Annunzio and was created in 2012 in Carouge, Switzerland.

Playing on their physical ressemblance, Mehdi and Elsa do not perform as a man and a woman, but as lovers, whatever their genders are, trying to connect through fusion and conflict. The duet Anchor delves into the complexities of relationships. Playfully probing the tensions between passion and security, wants and needs, fantasy and compassion, within the life of a couple.

Collectif R. A. S. -

"Reste à savoir si on passe à l'acte ?"

Chaque jour est un jour où on ne s'est pas suicidé, dit Louis C. K. Pendant ce temps des enfants jouent près des pots d'échappement. (“Each day is another day without killing yourself”, says Louis C.K. Meanwhile kids are playing around exhaust pipes. )

The project emerged from a collective research initiated in 2017. In “Reste à savoir si on passe à l’acte”, the group began inquiring about the encounter between “performance arts” and “dramatic theater”.

The artistic group was born from this research. It is made up of six actors/actresses, one visual artist, one acousmatic composer and one author. We experiment with mixing different art forms on stage and going beyond the borders of our own respective fields of expertise. All actors are performing on stage, led by a shared desire to rise above classical schemes.

Together, nine actors try to execute a ritual, of which they cannot predict the outcome, armed with any matter they can find (water, sound, lines, dust, moves, food, etc.). Walls are moving, inner movements of the “characters” alter the scenery. Time is stretching, space is busting.

Each spectator is free to take an active part in the growing chaos.

The story will rise up from the story acts.

Absent Theatre - "For below"

"In the middle of the journey of my life I found myself within this...cave..."

Absent Theatre brings together four graduates of the 'The Actor's Wheel' training company from Plymouth UK. Drawing on three years of training together, Absent Theatre are a physical troupe. Their devised work; interprets, dissects, and questions the everyday.

Deep down in the Earth, four men become trapped while toiling in a mine. What follows is a hypnotic examination of morality. Drawing inspiration from The Quran, The Bible and Dante's 'The Divine Comedy'.'For Below' brims with physicality and intensity.
